Our Projects
Ethnic WorkWell & Wellbeing Project
The Ethnic WorkWell & Wellbeing Project is a culturally tailored employment and wellbeing programme designed to support Black, African-Caribbean and South Asian communities across Manchester who face barriers to employment, workplace wellbeing, and mental health support. Delivered in partnership by African Caribbean Mental Health Services (ACMHS) and Empower Consultants CIC, the project combines over 30 years of community experience with specialist mental health, advocacy, and employment support services.
The programme supports individuals experiencing challenges such as discrimination, workplace racism, poor mental health, social isolation, low confidence, language barriers, trauma, and limited access to culturally appropriate services. Through a holistic and person-centred approach, participants receive
tailored support to help them either move into employment or thrive within existing work.
Alongside direct support for participants, the project also delivers accredited cultural competence training for employers and professionals to help create more inclusive and supportive workplaces for ethnically diverse communities.
